STATIC API & METADATA
API and metadata terms
A guide to the public static API and reuse of metadata authored by KoreaFonts. Permission to use a font is checked separately for each font.
KoreaFonts-authored metadata: CC BY 4.0
Descriptions, classifications and other metadata authored by KoreaFonts, where KoreaFonts holds the relevant rights, are provided under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0). They can be shared and adapted, including commercially, under that license's conditions. CC BY 4.0 overview ↗
This grant does not apply to every item contained in an API response. Font files, original rights-holder licenses and notices, and third-party descriptions or images follow their own terms. This metadata license does not grant separate rights in names or trademarks.
Attribution when reusing metadata
Source
Credit KoreaFonts and link to the page or API material used. Retain any separately supplied author credits or notices.
License
State CC BY 4.0 and provide its license link. Make clear that it applies to KoreaFonts-authored metadata.
Changes
Identify changes such as translation, reclassification or edited descriptions, and retain existing change notices. Do not imply endorsement or sponsorship by KoreaFonts.
Example: “Metadata source: KoreaFonts [link to material] · CC BY 4.0 [license link] · Changes: translated descriptions.” Use the actual source and changes for your reuse.
Public static API
The API consists of read-only JSON files for the public catalog. It currently provides no API keys, user accounts, paid plans or server-side search or recommendation service.
Use IDs from the index for individual font JSON records. Record the schema_version and data_revision used, and check manifest checksums. Cache repeated requests rather than downloading the whole catalog on each keystroke or render.
Pinned revisions and availability
For reproducible data, use a fixed revision and snapshot paths from the manifest. The current revision is provided. At most one previous revision is also retained when it is available in the build environment and passes rights and file compatibility checks. A fresh build may contain only the current revision; permanent access to historical versions is not promised. Rights corrections or withdrawals can remove earlier material.
Pinned font versions in webfont code and API metadata revisions identify different material. Check a font file against its distribution version and the evidence for that font's license.
Font use and service limits
Commercial reuse of metadata does not grant commercial use, embedding or redistribution of font files. Check each detail page's conditions and original terms. An unknown state is not permission.
The API and metadata are provided without warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, continued availability or response time. Consult CC BY 4.0's warranty provisions and check any separate rights needed. Full license ↗
